In this paper Lost Wax technology will be discussed as one of the „Netshape“
technologies. Achievable final casting dimensional accuracy and
how to control/influence this by wax pattern injection parameters and also
by other parameters during the Lost Wax process will be discussed.
Included are two „case studies/examples“of investment castings, originally
manufactured by other technologies. These demonstrate advantages of
this very progressive technology. Also the simultaneous engineering
approach will be stressed (foundry-customer relationship) during the oral
presentation of this paper as a key element for successful business
development.
