In today’s core manufacturing, the high-performance cold box systems are
very well established. However, they are confronted with increasing
demands regarding lower smell and reduced emissions, especially in
aluminium die casting. ASK develops a solution to these problems with
INOTEC, a new inorganic binder system which is based on consequent
and detailed investigations of inorganic principles. Even in demanding
brass casting, a serial production has been successfully started in 2005.
Also based on the broad inorganic know-how, the application of newly
developed ceramic coatings, and zirconium silicate-free high refractory
coatings as an integral part of the entire process have improved the
performance of the foundries. A new alcohol-diluted water-based, but
flammable coating has been a result of these developments.
