Virtual meeting of the WFO President with representatives of North American foundries

Instituto de Fundición Tabira / Tabira Foundry Institute
The virtual meeting “A Global Foundry Update from the WFO provided an opportunity to explore global economic and industry conditions currently affecting our foundry industry

Carsten Kühlgatz, WFO President for the period 2022-2023, travelled to the AFS-American Foundry Society offices in Chicago where he held a virtual meeting with a large group of representatives of foundries belonging to this organization, a meeting that was also attended virtually by our Secretary General.

The meeting allowed on one hand to present some of the new initiatives of the WFO, such as the recently held World Foundry Summit 2022 or the new Young Virtual Congress to be held soon, as well as to hold an interesting discussion on issues raised by the attendees themselves, such as the unification of technical standards, specialization within the sector in decarbonization processes or the impact of possible energy rationing in the industry.
